latest still featuring Leondardo DiCaprio

Interview with Nolan @ WonderCon

Who knew only 3 1/2 minutes could generate so much excitement?  The always secretive Christopher Nolan did, that’s who.  The “Dark Knight” mastermind showed a clip from his new Leonardo DiCaprio thriller “Inception” at San Francisco’s WonderCon this past weekend and people were still talking about it the following day.

Not much is still known about Nolan’s latest endeavor, except that it appears to deal with covert espionage within character’s dreams.  Could it be “The Matrix Revolutions” without the leather jackets?  If you take that as a compliment to the Wachowskis , then yes.  Moreover, the visually impressive film is slowly positioning itself  for a potential awards season run later this year.  There’s still a long way to go until the film debuts on July 16, but this weekend’s reveal was more than enough to push “Inception” to the top spot in the power rankings.

We’re using a tournament style bracket to help us narrow down the list all the way to #1 and we have Leo pitted against Orlando Bloom in round one. We want to make sure he makes it to round two and possibly even win! Check it all out here: http://www.popsugar.com/2010-PopSugar-100-7944864/756

He’s already worked with Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg, so it was really just a matter of time until the Oscar-nominated actor joined forces with the legendary Clint Eastwood. DiCaprio himself confirmed to EW that he’s met with Eastwood on the project, which would follow Hoover’s tenure — and influence at — the FBI.

No deal is yet in place, but DiCaprio is clearly engaged. “It sounds interesting to say the least,” says DiCaprio. “There’s no contract, no anything, but I’m a huge fan of Clint’s.” Dustin Lance Black (Milk) wrote the script and Brian Grazer and his Imagine Entertainment are producing.

Oliver Stone is in talks to direct Leonardo DiCaprio in “Travis McGee,” a potential franchise project based on the shaggy hero of 21 detective novels written by John D. MacDonald.

The Fox movie will be based on the first book in the series, “The Deep Blue Good-by,” published in 1964. The novel tracks the Florida-based “salvage consultant” as he reluctantly leaves his houseboat to search for treasure hidden by a soldier after World War II.

Years ago, Robert Schwentke (“Flightplan”) was attached to direct the project, and Gary Fleder (“Kiss the Girls”) was also interested at one point.

Stone also has “Jawbreaker” in development at Paramount. He returns to theaters in September with his sequel “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.”

Leonardo DiCaprio, an actor known for eco-friendly causes, helped car maker Tesla kick off an eight-month, 24,000-mile world tour aimed in part at promoting its battery-powered sports car the Tesla Roadster.

The trip is the result of a partnership between San Carlos, Calif.-based Tesla and Swiss luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer. DiCaprio, a TAG Heuer spokesman and early Tesla buyer is one of many celebrities who drive Teslas. The company says it expects a number of notable guest drivers to take part in the tour but declined to identify them. The car will stop in 15 major cities including Monaco, Milan, Moscow, Beijing, Tokyo, and New York. The event is scheduled to end in Paris in early Octpber to help kick off the Paris auto show.
